Tragedy, Sadness and Healing

The tragic circumstances of Simon and Mike’s deaths at Moonarie in August 2019 had a big impact on the the families and friends of Simon and Mike, the climbing community and significantly the Adnyamathana Traditional owners of Moonarie. Jim McLean from Bushwalking SA has written a beautiful piece describing the tragedy, sadness, healing and the coming together of Australians to heal and understand each other.

Adnyamathanya Healing Ceremony

Easter 2019 was probably the most popular weekend ever recorded at Moonarie. With the recent release of the new Moonarie guidebook and the Grampians closures, attendance was at an all-time high.
