Moonarie Musings by Rob Knott

What I love about Moonarie is the feeling of space and the timelessness of this ancient land that makes such an impression. These feelings are heightened by the adventurous nature of the climbing here. As one sits high up on a belay ledge after an engrossing pitch, looking out into the vastness of the land, gazing at the arid mountain ridges stretching away into the distance. The clarity of the light, the vividness of the colours all around, the translucent sky above, all restore and enrich the soul.

The web site is a great idea. I’ve attached a few links below to other activities in the area which I thought might be useful?  The Heysen trail (hiking) Mawson trail (long distance mtb trail) and also a couple of sites about surfing locations – Yorke Peninsula and Cactus out west. The West coast especially (roughly bottom of Eyre Peninsula to the WA border) is absolutely world class which like Moonarie is uniquely uncrowded. Could really appeal to visiting climber/surfers.
